Get Nostalgic with the Sleek Ponies at Victoria Beckham SS26
Strong. Sleek. Feminine. That was the aesthetic at Victoria Beckham’s SS26 show, as models glided down the Paris Fashion Week runway in billowy slip dresses, deconstructed suits and oversized parkas. But it wasn’t just the fashion that embodied effortless elegance. The hair – crafted by lead stylist Anthony Turner, in partnership with Wella Professionals and ghd – took smooth simplicity to new levels, with a nape-hugging ponytail that’s set to redefine next summer’s styling.
Can’t wait that long? Then start crafting this high-shine, low-slung look right now, with the exact products used backstage. Below, we break down every step that went into Beckham and Turner’s imperfectly polished ponytails…
The Look Explained
“For the SS26 collection, we wanted hair that was feminine yet simple, so Anthony created a sleek, low ponytail – powerful, polished, and effortless,” explained Victoria Beckham.
The look was inspired by 90s cult classic The Virgin Suicides, with its dreamlike softness harking back to the nonchalant, nostalgic beauty synonymous with the movie.
It’s strong yet relaxed, smooth yet understated; a style that transcends time and trends to elevate every outfit at every occasion. And, while it may have been crafted with the lightness of summer 2026 in mind, this effortless pony tucks beautifully into a coat collar, so you can also wear it with your winter wardrobe.
"I loved collaborating with Victoria Beckham to create the SS26 look, which perfectly captured the collection's narrative,” said Turner. “A sleek, low ponytail that felt strong, yet feminine. To prep the hair and ensure flawless results, we used Wella Professionals and the ghd Chronos Max – my go-to tools for delivering beautiful hair backstage in record time."
ULTIMATE REPAIR Miracle Hair Rescue
Fashion Week takes its toll on models’ hair, so a leave-in treatment like ULTIMATE REPAIR Miracle Hair Rescue is essential for restoring resilience. The weightless mist repairs hair damage in 90 seconds¹, leaves hair 12x smoother², and gives you 99% less breakage³ – a must for hair that goes through a lot.
But it’s not just for backstage. The potent treatment is a staple in every kit, with its concentrated formula treating all kinds of damage, whether caused by heat, UV exposure or excess friction. It combines AHA with Omega-9 to repair your hair from the inside out, transforming the condition of stressed-out hair. All you have to do is mist it through clean, damp strands and let it absorb for 90 seconds. It’s healthy hair made simple.
ULTIMATE SMOOTH Miracle Oil Serum
The hydration of hair oil meets the silkiness of serum in ULTIMATE SMOOTH Miracle Oil Serum , a luxurious elixir that nourishes in 30 seconds for smoothness that lasts up to 3 days⁴. Like Miracle Hair Rescue, it goes deeper than other formulas, nourishing your hair from the inside-out with a potent blend of Squalane and Omega-9.
At Victoria Beckham SS26, the oil was applied to damp hair to prep for a sleek blow-dry, but Turner says, “I also love to use Miracle Oil Serum and apply a small amount on dry hair to achieve smoothness and shine.” You can even mix it into the ULTIMATE SMOOTH Intense Mask to supercharge your weekly masking session. Plus, it has heat protection and a UV shield built in, making it the ultimate multi-tasker. Everyone needs it in their hair care kit.
Victoria Beckham SS26: The Hair Step by Step
You’ve got the kit – now let’s get into the steps. Here’s how Turner transformed models’ hair backstage…
Step 1
Through damp hair, Turner misted ULTIMATE REPAIR Miracle Hair Rescue from roots to ends. The lightweight leave-in treatment was responsible for giving the hair a strong, healthy look. To maximize its results and allow the damage repair to kick in, the spray was left to absorb for 90 seconds.
Step 2
Next, ULTIMATE SMOOTH Miracle Oil Serum was applied to the mid-lengths and ends of still-damp hair. The thicker the model’s hair was, the more oil that was used to lock in 96 hours of frizz control⁴.
Step 3
Hair was dried using the ghd helios hairdryer, with the nozzle pointing down to create the smoothest surface. For some models, EIMI Extra Volume mousse was used to create extra sleekness and lift through the root.
Step 4
Using a comb, hair was gathered at the nape of the neck and tied into a low, smooth ponytail. Then, the ghd Chronos max styler was used to give the lengths of the pony a smooth, shiny finish.
Step 5
Finally, EIMI Stay Firm hairspray was misted through from root to tip, enhancing the smoothness and softness of the style, while providing a light hold.
